here is to hope that the movie is successful enough to where 0079 or the rest of the origin story gets a TV remake!

Unfortunately, for anyone trying to shoehorn this in with the origin series, you're going to be out of luck. According to staff commentary in the Mook for the movie, the explicitly state that despite it sharing a similar worldview and other similarities, it runs parallel to the series and parallel to the Origin. So it's basically floating out there all by itself. Plus, it does have a lot of differences so it really doesn't jive well with anything to begin with.

The implications in the press were that this is all we’re getting. Why 0079 is treated as this sacred, unremarkable cow after the Origin is something I’ve learned to accept, especially with the only other real chance at it being remade, the live action movie, is apparently going to be some original story gobbledygook that may never make it to production. It is what it is.

I’m just glad YAS got to redeem his arguably most infamous moment.

Which is? If you're referring to the quality of the original episode, that's not his fault since he was hospitalized at the time and unable to work on the episode.

Feels like a case of “If I was there, it wouldn’t be so infamous.” But that’s just one read.

The film at the end feels like a tease for a series we will never get.
