Sounds interesting but knowing it's about Sakuta kinda kills the hype a bit. He's always been the least interesting character

Just got back from seeing this in theater in a double feature with Sister Venturing Out. Even if Sakuta is far from your favorite character in the franchise, the movie is still worth seeing. The story to this point simply isn't complete without this.

I had already seen Rascal Does Not Dream Of A Sister Venturing Out before but went to the double presentation and Knapsack Kid was quite good. I've always had a soft spot for the franchise since I saw the tv series and neither of these movies disappointed me.

I agree that if your a fan of this series you want to go see these. However.. Putting Sister Venturing out aside.. Knapsack kid is probably the weaker of the 2. Its primary purpose is to introduce more characters that will become relevant later in the University Arc.

The movie also loses something because its timing and how it needs to be edited for the anime. Characters and ideas introduced here do not become apparent until the later volumes. Aka it feels like filler.. which it is.
