Slightly off topic, but I came across this article suggesting that female oriented circles are becoming less present at Comic Market. This is unusual as female circles have always made up the vast bulk of participants at Comic Market. When I went in summer 2018, I was utterly surprised at the amount of female participants, especially those who sold ero material. The article seems to suggest it's easier for female circles to participate in smaller doujinshi events held across the year.

Also according to the article at the same time male oriented doujinshi are becoming less diverse. In conculusion it suggest that Comic Market is losing it's significance, however I've head that in previous years.

To no one's surprise, the for otakus by otaku IP will draw in more doujin authors than games with creator programs that restrict what they can draw. And not to mention how restrictive ips are getting with content guidelines that don't want their IP associated with porn

Honestly the doujin scene is slowly dying since fanbox/fantasy and other forms of online paywalling makes it more profitable for creators then hoping for a spot for Comiket. With seasonal anime getting little attention, the appeal of comiket is gone now. especially with how fiercely protective ips are about certain content online
