"Gratitude" trailer previews free-to-play game that improves on smartphone version

Square Enix announced on the first business day at Tokyo Game Show on Thursday that its Final Fantasy Agito PSP and smartphone game will be released as Final Fantasy Agito+ for the PlayStation Vita portable console on January 15, 2015 in Japan. Square Enix unveiled a "Gratitude" trailer for the game:

Final Fantasy Agito+ improves features from the currently available smartphone game, and uses the control stick and buttons of the PlayStation Vita. The game cannot load save data from the smartphone version.

The game will be free-to-play with purchasable items by digital download, and a physical version will also be released on the same day as the digital version with special download codes attached for the price of 3,800 yen (about US$38). The download codes will give access to players to exclusive items: Super rare Genbu Armor “King's Armor,” Holy Army Garb “Ice Queen,” the Cerberus magic gun, the rare Class Suits bow and arrow, Coral Sword, Heavy Lance, and the consumable item set “Initiate Welcoming Set” (which includes 10 lottery tickets and five High Potion Ss).

Final Fantasy Type-0 is getting a Western release as an HD remake for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Square Enix originally released the Final Fantasy Type-0 role-playing game on the PlayStation Portable in Japan in October 2011. The smartphone version of Final Fantasy Agito launched in Japan on May 14.
