3DS remake set to ship June 4 in Japan

Game developer Gust Corporation began streaming a gameplay trailer on Thursday for its upcoming release of the Shin Rorona no Atelier: Hajimari no Monogatari ~Arland no Renkinjutsushi~ (Atelier Rorona Plus: The Alchemist of Arland) video game for the Nintendo 3DS. The role-playing game is set to ship in Japan on June 4.

The new trailer highlights character interaction and the game's turn-based fighting system in the new Atelier Astrid mode.

The Nintendo 3DS remake was originally slated for a March 26 release, but was delayed when publisher Koei Tecmo wanted more time to improve the game's quality.

Those who purchase first copies of the game will get a Nintendo 3DS custom theme. The package version of the game will retail for 5,800 yen (about US$48) and the download edition will retail for 5,143 yen (US$43). Those who purchase the "premium box" edition will receive the game, a cleaner cloth pouch, a "mini tapestry," and a set of five character metal charms. The premium box will retail for 8,800 yen (US$74).

Nintendo first announced the remake last November in its Nintendo Direct Japan presentation. The game features a super-deformed art style and remakes the Atelier Rorona Plus: The Alchemist of Arland PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita game, which is itself an updated remake of the 2009 Atelier Rorona RPG for PS3. Tecmo KOEI released Atelier Rorona Plus in North America last June.
