Sega Brings Yazuka 0 Game to the Americas

Sega of America announced at the PlayStation Experience event on Saturday that it is localizing and releasing the Yakuza 0 (Ryū ga Gotoku 0: Chikai no Basho) prequel game in the Americas. While the game shipped on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 in Japan, Sega's release in the Americas will be for the PlayStation 4 only. The English release is also getting both a physical and a digital release.

Sega describes the game as follows:

Set in Tokyo, December 1988, players will have a chance to see where it all started for series protagonist Kazuma Kiryu. Follow Kiryu, not yet the Dragon of Dojima, as he tries to regain his honor after getting blamed for a botched debt collection that ended in murder. Additionally, for the first time in a numbered game, gamers will be able to play as Goro Majima, the Mad Dog of Shimano, as he tries to rejoin his clan. Each character will posses their own unique fighting style and abilities that can be utilized to kick some rival Yakuza butt.

In the 1980s, Tokyo was filled with decadence, greed, sin, and above all else, cold hard cash. C.R.E.A.M. is the motto, and everyone wants in on the action. Thankfully Kiryu and Majima are the "entrepreneurial" type and will have plenty of ways to make, spend, and take money.

The game shipped in Japan on March 12.

Sega also announced that its English release of Yakuza 5 will be available on the PS3 in the West on December 8. Sega describes the game:

Yakuza 5 continues the epic story of Kazuma Kiryu alongside four other protagonists, following their struggles and conflicts in the seedy underbelly of Japan's Yakuza underworld. Featuring a new graphics engine versus its predecessor, Yakuza 5 takes players to five major Japanese cities to venture through a life of crime and power.

Yakuza 5 originally shipped in Japan for the PlayStation 3 in December 2012. The release will include all the DLC released for the Japanese version of the game. The DLC includes "Another Drama," which are extensive sub-plots that focus on each of the game's five protagonists.
