Dynasty Warriors Eiketsuden Strategy RPG's Promo Shows Characters, Combat

The official website of Koei Tecmo Games' Shin Sangoku Musou: Eiketsuden (Dynasty Warriors: Legend of Great Heroes), the strategy RPG spinoff of its Dynasty Warriors (Shin Sangoku Musou) action game franchise, began streaming a promotional video for the game on Wednesday. The video previews the game's characters and combat system.
The game's official website lists the characters Zhao Yun, Xiahou Dun, Cao Cao, Liu Bei, Guan Yu, Sun Jian, Lu Bu, Yuan Shao, and Diaochan as being featured in the game. The website also features the game-original characters Lixia and Lei Bin. Additionally, the promotional video features Zhou Yu, Lu Lingqi, and Guan Yinping.
The simulation RPG game is slated for release this year on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita. Koei Tecmo Games' Omega Force team is developing the game.
The original games bring The Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Luo Guanzhong's classic novel about a war-torn era in Chinese history, to the hack-and-slash genre. KOEI released the first Sangoku Musou (Dynasty Warriors) game in 1997 for the PlayStation as a spinoff of its Romance of the Three Kingdoms strategy game franchise. Since then, it has released seven more games in the main series, and numerous spinoffs (including the Samurai Warriors series).
The Hong Kong company China 3D is planning to shoot a live-action film based on the Dynasty Warriors franchise next year for release in 2018. Roy Hin Yeung Chow (Murderer, Nightfall, Rise of the Legend) is directing, and his wife Christine To Chi-Long (Murderer, Nightfall, Rise of the Legend) is writing.
