Super Robot Wars OG Game's New English-subtitled Trailer Reveals August 5 Date in Asia

PS3/PS4 game slated for June 30 in Japan

Bandai Namco Entertainment Asia began streaming an English promotional video for the Super Robot Wars OG: The Moon Dwellers (Super Robot Taisen OG: The Moon Dwellers) simulation role-playing game on Sunday. The video is an English version of the game's second promotional video revealed earlier this month.

The video reveals that the game's English-language version will ship for the PS4 in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Indonesia on August 5. The video also previews the collector's edition.

The game will ship in Japan for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 on June 30.

The regular PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 versions of the game will cost 8,200 yen (about US$77), while the limited PlayStation 4 version will cost 11,800 yen (US$111). The limited edition will include a special box, an official mechanical design collection book, a soundtrack CD, and a "Super Robot Wars OG Beach Dwellers" picture drama Blu-ray Disc. Bandai Namco Entertainment began streaming an introduction video for the Blu-ray Disc in May.

JAM Project performs the game's opening theme song "Shining storm."

In the game's story, a new calamity comes from the moon and a cross gate, and the soldiers must fight against the calamity. The game will feature both a "Beginner's Mode" and a "Guidance Scenario" in-game instruction guide that will allow those who have never played the franchise before to play the game. Confirmed mecha include Granteed, and confirmed characters include Akimi Akatsuki, Akemi Akatsuki, Rio Mei Long, Tōya Shiun, Katia Grineal, and Merua Meruna Meia.

The game is the first project in the franchise's 25th anniversary celebration, and is also the latest entry in the franchise's OG (Original Generation) line, which focuses on original robots and characters as opposed to existing ones from anime. The second project in the 25th anniversary celebration is the Super Robot Taisen V (Super Robot Wars V) game, which will ship in Japan on 2017. Bandai Namco Entertainment is also planning a localized English, Traditional Chinese, and Korean release for the Super Robot Wars V game in Asia.
