Kill la Kill IF Game's English-dubbed Gameplay Video Shows 1st Story Mission (Updated)

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
PS4/Switch/PC game launches in Japan on July 25, in West on July 26

Media news website IGN began streaming a gameplay video for Kill la Kill IF, the first game based on the Kill la Kill anime, last week. The video shows footage from the game's first story mission and previews the English audio track.

Arc System Works also posted a similar video but with the Japanese dub.

Arc System Works will release the game for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC in Japan on July 25, and in North America on July 26. PQube will ship the game in Europe on July 26.

The game's first print edition in Japan will include a Mako keychain. The limited edition will have special box packaging art, an artbook, a soundtrack, and "Mako Croquette" keychain. Retailer-specific bonus items will also be available.

Anime studio Trigger and game developer and publisher Arc System Works are collaborating on the game, with Arc System Works as the publisher. APLUS (Little Witch Academia game) is developing the game for one to two players.

The anime's scriptwriter Kazuki Nakashima returned to write the game's original story, which was written like "another episode" of the anime. The game's "if" story will diverge from the anime's story partway through and will include new content. The game's protagonist will be Satsuki Kiryūin, rival and ally of the original anime's protagonist Ryūko Matoi.

Other playable characters include Ryuko Matoi, Ira Gamagoori, Uzu Sanageyama, Houka Inumuta, Nonon Jakuzure, Ragyō Kiryūin, and Nui Harime. The game will add the playable characters Mako Mankanshoku and Ultimate Double Naked DTR as free downloadable content this summer.

Update: Added Japanese-dubbed version of the video. Source: Anime! Anime! (Chappurin)
