Just started to read the web novel. Reminds me a lot like The 8th son? Are you kidding me? Like very similar.

I actually enjoyed that anime more that i expected i would.

You ever wonder what happens to the original personality or soul of that body that's taken over? like this middle aged due found himself in the body of a young noble boy....what happened to the noble boy's personality and memories? did it just get erased? even if we do full reincarnation like the dude is reborn as a baby, you ever wonder what the child would have grown to be had he not had his body hi-jacked by some random dude from another world that got hit by a truck?

I've gotten about a quarter of the way through the web novel and have given up. It is now an almost exact copy of That time I got reincarnated as a Slime. Can't these authors come up with something new?

In most cases where the soul is transplanted into an existing not-newborn, it's being done at the moment of the new body's death, so the original soul has already departed. (Either that or the character later discovers that they were always that person and the memories of a past life just kicked in after a while.) Hence no issues. Not a problem if they're reborn as a baby, either, since you can just assume that they are the soul first attached to that body.
